Holley Mosher

I hope you are proud of yourself for finding this little slice of the internet. I appreciate the vulnerability it takes to ask for help, and vulnerability equals strength. We devote a lot of our energy to others and sometimes neglect our own needs. I believe that gaining the courage to put yourself first is how you take your power back.

Before joining BK Counseling, I worked at Queens University of Charlotte providing mental health counseling to college students. Throughout this experience, I have worked closely with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, self-image/self-esteem issues, identity exploration, adjustment disorders, relationship problems, OCD, and depression. I practice from a theoretical background that focuses on developing a nonjudgmental, empathic, and authentic relationship which I believe is the cornerstone to an effective growth experience in counseling. Recognizing that one approach will not fit all, I value a collaborative approach to identify other modalities that I can incorporate. I have experience working with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques.

A little about me, I am a proud Northerner from Rochester, NY (Go Bills)! I am very passionate about working with persons in the LGBTQIA+ community. I am a certified 200-hr yoga teacher and through this passion can incorporate teachings of yoga and mindfulness into session if that should fit your specific needs.
