What makes counseling successful?
One of the biggest factors in making sure that your counseling experience is successful is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. The foundation of this relationship begins at the first communication, which is why BK takes special care in our phone consultations to ensure that your needs are being met. This fosters the building of trust between us, which is essential to our counseling process.
-
What are first steps?
We offer free phone consultations to garner basic information about your symptoms and to determine if we would be a good match moving forward. If so, we would be happy to schedule your intake session at that time.
Prior to your intake session, you will be asked to create a client portal and fill out the necessary documents and releases for new clients. These documents must be completed before your intake session.

How do you know if therapy is working?
A major component of our individualized treatment plan is goal setting. When you begin to make progress toward your goals and reduce the symptoms you are experiencing, it is a sign that therapy is working for you. While each person’s symptoms and goals are a little bit different, the foundation of all of this is a positive, trusting working relationship. When one feels safe within the therapeutic relationship, they allow themselves to be more vulnerable. That is where the healing begins.

Do you accept insurance?
We are in network with the following providers: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar Health, Cigna, and Carelon Behavioral Health.
We use a virtual billing system called Headway. Once you make a Headway client account, you can submit your insurance information to find out what your insurance coverage is for sessions.
We do accept HSA, FSA, and HRA cards if you have one through your current insurance provider. We do not accept Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).
