Acknowledging that you want a change and are looking for support is courageous and vulnerable. My therapeutic approach focuses on creating a sense of safety and support so that you can process your thoughts and emotions. I believe that a trusting, non-judgmental relationship is essential to the counseling process.

Before opening BK Counseling, I worked in community centers and outpatient treatment facilities focusing on mental health treatment with dual diagnoses in children and adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Some of my work includes supporting those struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, dysfunctional relationships, codependency, life transitions, and mood disorders.

From experience, I do not work from a “one size fits all” mentality. I use a holistic, collaborative, and person-centered approach for each client to help their challenges and achieve their goals. I believe that every individual has the potential for positive growth and healing. I use a variety of evidenced-based and trauma informed modalities in traditional talk therapy. I support clients within the context of family systems and integrate interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness, DBT, Reality and Choice Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
